This represents the book Speak because the tree looks dead and after Melinda got raped she felt dead to everyone. Everyone looks at her strangely now.

    Wow, this is a beautiful piece. I would have never equated the caption to the art itself. I felt like there is so much life around this tree and its healing, with all the white and green around it.
